Author Guidelines

This page serves as the official source of submission information for the International Journal of Transnational Education and Governance (IJTEG). Authors are encouraged to review all requirements carefully before proceeding with online submission.

All submissions will be assessed by the editor to determine whether they fit the aims and scope of the journal. Submissions considered suitable for the journal will be sent for double-blind peer review before a final editorial decision is made. The average review period is approximately 2–4 weeks.

Required Submission Documents

  • the completed and signed Copyright Transfer Agreement – IJTEG;
  • the completed and signed Ethical Declaration Form – IJTEG;
  • the Copykiller similarity check report; or Manuscript Similarity Check  and
  • proof of bank transfer payment, if applicable.

Only submissions that include all required documents will be considered complete for editorial review. The Copyright Transfer Agreement must be signed by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors. The Ethical Declaration Form must be signed by all authors.

Manuscript Formatting Requirements

• Title: 12-point bold Times New Roman, centered.
• Abstract: 11-point Times New Roman, justified, 1.2-line spacing, approximately 150–200 words.
• Keywords: 4–6 keywords separated by commas.
• Body text: 11-point Times New Roman, justified alignment, 1.8-line spacing.
• Main headings: 12-point bold Times New Roman with numbering.
• Subheadings: 11-point bold Times New Roman.
• References: APA (7th ed.) style.

Peer Review and Anonymity

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. For initial submission, all identifying information must be removed from the manuscript, including author names, institutional affiliations, academic positions, acknowledgements, and any other information that may reveal the identity of the authors.

After peer review or upon acceptance/revision, authors may be asked to submit a revised version including author names, author roles, institutional affiliations, and academic positions.

Author Fees

IJTEG operates on a transparent author-fee model to support open-access publishing and peer-review management. The following fees apply:

• IATEG Membership Fee: ₩20,000 / USD 15
  Annual membership; required for all submitting authors; due at submission.

• Article Processing Charge (APC): ₩90,000 / USD 60
  Due at submission; covers peer-review management; non-refundable once review begins.

• Publication Fee: ₩200,000 / USD 150
  Due upon acceptance; covers copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, and open-access hosting.

• Publication Fee (University- or Research-funded Articles): ₩300,000 / USD 220
  Due upon acceptance; applies to articles supported by a university, research institute, or external research funding.

Waiver Policy

Authors from low- and middle-income countries may apply for a partial or full fee waiver. Waiver requests should be made at the time of submission and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For inquiries, please contact [email protected].

Permissions and Ethics

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any copyrighted or third-party material included in the submission. All authors listed on the manuscript must consent to authorship. Where appropriate, research involving human participants or sensitive data must have received approval from the relevant ethics committee or institutional review board in accordance with the legal and ethical requirements of the relevant country or institution.

The names, email addresses, and other personal information entered on this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party, except as required for editorial and publication processes.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Guidelines

The IJTEG journal recognizes the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in academic research and scholarly publishing. Authors may use AI tools to support certain aspects of manuscript preparation; however, such use must be transparent, responsible, and consistent with academic integrity.

1. Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of a submitted manuscript. The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and clearly describe how it was used.

AI use may include, but is not limited to, language editing, grammar and spelling correction, translation, text generation, data analysis, coding, or figure preparation.

2. Authorship

AI tools, including ChatGPT and other large language models (LLMs), cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship requires human responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and accountability of the published work.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to the journal, including any content generated or modified with the assistance of AI.

3. Accuracy and Originality

Authors who use AI-assisted technologies must carefully review and verify all AI-generated or AI-assisted content before submission. AI-generated content may contain inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or fabricated information, including incorrect references.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

• all factual information is accurate and verifiable;

• all references and citations are correct;

• no plagiarism or inappropriate duplication has occurred;

• copyrighted material is used appropriately and with permission when required; and

• the manuscript represents the authors' original scholarly work.

AI-generated content should not be used as a substitute for the authors' own scientific judgment and responsibility.

4. Disclosure Statement

When AI has been used for writing or language assistance, authors should include an appropriate disclosure statement in the manuscript, preferably in the Acknowledgments or another designated section.

For example:

AI Use Disclosure: The authors used [name of AI tool] for language editing and proofreading during the preparation of this manuscript. The authors reviewed and verified all AI-assisted content and take full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the final manuscript.

If AI was used for data analysis, data collection, coding, image generation, or other substantive research activities, the authors should provide sufficient details in the Methods section to allow the use of the technology to be understood and, where applicable, reproduced.

5. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Authors must not enter confidential, personal, proprietary, or unpublished research information into AI systems unless appropriate safeguards are in place. Authors should ensure that the use of AI tools does not compromise the confidentiality, privacy, or intellectual property rights of research participants or other parties.

6. Use of AI in Peer Review

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers should not upload manuscripts or any confidential manuscript content to AI systems unless the journal has explicitly permitted such use and confidentiality can be adequately assured.

Any permitted use of AI by reviewers must be disclosed to the journal, and reviewers remain responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of their review.

7. Editorial Responsibility

The editors and publisher may use AI-assisted technologies for appropriate editorial and production purposes. Any such use will be conducted in accordance with principles of confidentiality, transparency, accuracy, and responsible scholarly publishing.

Failure to disclose the use of AI when disclosure is required may result in editorial action, including requests for clarification, correction, or other measures consistent with the journal's publication ethics policies.

IJTEG expects all authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff to use AI-assisted technologies responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with the principles of academic integrity.
